As a token of equal giftables my close friend Gary offered me whatever I like, and since I was taking him to get a tattoo at our favorite parlor anyway, I figured "hey! I want more metal!" So yes, my new piercing is pretty. It's definitely the only piercing I can see being acceptable on my face though. I figure, once I get my other lobe pierced finally, and maybe another cartilage piercing, I should be able to pick up Sirius radio by default. heh. Figured a picture might be in order, so there's this one.
--Little Reverb

Cupcake Pink, Man Color For Sure

Can't say much since it's almost time for work, but I figured Someone would be curious as to what cupcake Pink looks like since it's finally in my hair. The sibs are all conked out on the floor, and I'm still stark wild awake. The gift giving thing is kinda boring usually, but it was a ibt more interesting then usual this year. A foamy the squirrel shirt was certainly something I was happy about. The "I have no idea why I'm out of bed shirt" will help when work rolls around again, and the "chillin' wiht my peeps" shirt sponcered by the peep company will do for a laugh. Some nightmare before christmas trinkets, the classic green bionicle dude, and a really funky insense burner we're nice too. Seems there may have indeed been something to this gift giving without using giftcards.
On another note, my left knee started shooting with pain every time I bent it in the slightest as of 2 days ago. the day after taht it was my right knee, and today still my right knee. I've never been this vulnerable, lol...how does one handle such annoyances? I'll be trying the doctor before long if it persists any more cuase it's impossible to say "here lemme get that for you" when elderly people drop their stuff if I have to try to bend down stiff kneed only to topple over in pain. In any case, wether it was the half of a keylime pie down the hatch in less then 5 minutes, or the insane amount of mountain dew and sugar I consumed at work, my head has been killing me all day.
On a more pleasent note, my hunny's grandparents are dropping her off here on the way up from visiting family ont he 28th. I not only get to celebrate her birthday, but new years as well. Since her brithday is on a friday I'm confident I can call in a few favors and get the day with her rather then with a snotty framing customer.
On yet another turn of events. A good friend of mine is leaving for Washington earlier then thought. She was in a car wreck that pretty much pulled the last straw of hay for her step mother who proceeded to start devorce work. I promised her at one point that I'd do my hair up in hot pink, so since she's gone as of the 21st, you guys can expect a hot pink hairdo shot soon. Much to mom's reluctance, there's not much I can really do about her agreeing with my hair style other then I can point at Rich (my boss) who just says "I'm not a fashion expert"<--(which means 'go for it' by the way) and say that it's not like I'll lose my job over it.
I've noticed that the frame shop consists of the wierd and less understood ast of late anyway. In other words, Art folk like myself. Lauren is a complete basket case, who's come to be one of my closest friends. 3 skull tats and a skeleton tat down her leg, over 12 piercings and one more coming for christmas, and couldn't tell me her real hair color when I sincerely asked the first time; you can imagine why I get along with her so well. Becky is our former manager, has 3 kids whom she gave up her managorial position to spend more time with, 14 tat's in various spots and a slightly bizarre disposition towards customers who want framing "advise" as one might guess from a 6 year framing veteran. And of course there's me. The one who likes to press rules for all their worth with random hair colors, scattered piercings, the desire for a few religious tats, and a very bizarrely influenced ADD "seller's speech" when at the framing counter. I've realized that I found my niche in life, lol. Guess I rambled on enough for now though. I'll work on that hot pink hair shot soon.
--Little Reverb

Long time no see

Alrighty so outside ofa wonderful trip to knoxville to see Kitten, and several good friends, there's not been much outside of work to ttalk about. That is to say until last night at 12:01pm. I'm sure you're all fairly familiar with last nights release of the PS3 as it will be all over news for the next 2 days until Nintendo's Wii comes out. After reading a brief article, I checked ebay for kicks, and found an entire collection of them up for sale as high as 2,500 dollars. While I've never been one to complain about stupidity as such, this just boggles my mind. Wait for three days in a line, in the rain, just to buy a system for 6-700 dollars and sell it online for a blown out price. Don't get my wrong, that's insanely devious but it sorta kills the purpose in my mind. My biggest problem with this is more then likely the system itself. The PS3 is a PS2 with more graphics, more hard drive space, and a pretty new box. Provided I didn't have work, I'd be in line for Nintendo's Wii.....provided I had the money too...It may be substancially cheaper, but it's experimenting in a field we all loved back when the NES was new and improved. Who didn't love Duck Hunt? Each and every game is a wireless point and click, shake and swing interface with the controller. Now that's something that gets my gamer senses tingling. Alas however, I'll be lucky to get it months from now at the rate that price tag sits. I guess it's for the best.
--Little Reverb

And the World Keeps Spinnin'

Outside of my curious nature, I come to work with blue hari to find many fun and outlandishly happy comments over my new hair chroma. Better still have been the comments throughout the week about my hair's color from the various passers-by. A small group of little ol' blue-haired ladies (excuse the joke) actaully passed several very nice comments on to my manager about my kind service, which of course is based around my personality and how I help those at work. But a compliment in spite of my hair color, is a compliment I'll take. I've been transfered to Custom Framing, something I've idly drooled over since my Joann's ETC days. It's pretty much all that my job of choice could be. I spend hours working with my hands on wood and metal products to make something unique to the customer themself. I also get to work with a powerdrill named Gunther (framing girls' idea) and the massive glass cutter. Who doesn't like to make noise breaking left over glass and cutting up while doing your job? People seem to be comforted by my blue hair when i come out to help them pick out a custom frame. I think it's the stereotype of the newage artist frankly.....cartilage piercings, colored hair, thin and lanky...posibly starving (hehe). I can't complain though. Had one lady that asked for the blue-haired boy specifically by discription becuase she enjoyed working with me the first time....and it's only been a week. While it's not something that I would keep, persay, it's a statement I enjoy making now and then.
--Little Reverb

Long time no news

It's bene a good while, and I've not stopped to report in lately cause there hasn't been all that much of importance to post frankly. My daily schedule is pretty much consistant of work, maplestory, and sketching when I find myself in the mood. As of late however, whether mother posted it yet or not, I made the decision to bleach my hair as I do desire on occasion. This time however, I felt like making a twist. After consulting my various managers about hair color, I found myself holding a bottle of blue 'Manic Panic' hair dye. What wonders this stuff can do. Now what kinda post would this be if I didn't show a picture of the finished product? A bad post, that's what. So I'm curious as an aesthetic question. If you were a stranger at your local micheals, and you happened upon me, would you consider it an unprofessional site? In this day and age mind you. Would you be less inclinded to ask me a crafting question if you happened upon me while I was stalking? Keep in mind people, I've always got a smile on my face. I don't do unhappy at work. Anywho, lemme know, I'm curious after chatting with mother and father about said subject.
--Little Reverb

Happy Exciting Super Keen Awesome Fun Time

And so I've returned from my trip. A wonderful period of rest and relaxation with friends, family, and Kitten. Lots of pictures, and a few stories of laughter, but not really for today I think. Once again the job hunt is back on, and it's full time for the while being as I've missed registration for colleges in my area. I got my wish though, seeing as I don't have to wory about school for a while. I'm going to do my best to keep things going on my doodles and Alvika storyline, I've even got a few ideas for some bonafied artworks once again. I'll keep things posted.
On another note, anyone excited about Lady in the Water? M. Night Shyamalan certainly peaked my interest this time around. Water Nymphs "Narfs" and Dryads "Shrogs" are definitely more my type of subject matter in the thriller department. I've been watching the trailer for nearly two weeks. I'ts out on friday, and I'll be happy and satisfied.
--Little Reverb

Nothing like 4 hours in car with a screaming stereo

As I'm sure most of you know from mum, the family trip is coming up. I finally got my first true critque, and I'm both happy and perplexed. My reader says that they've "read all my works." and is a "big fan" and yet still don't understand how my stories go, relating to what she critiques on. The comment that my story isn't original is funny, since originality simply molds to the writer. Just because my story isn't up to an originality par just yet, doesn't mean I can't take drastic changes. It is only chapter 3 after all. For someone who's such a fan, I had to laugh at the comment about lack of emotional depth and character structures. Yes, in any form of fictional/non-fictional work, order dictates that you should discribe your characters thuroughly upon entrance into the story. Doing that on every story however is boring, and "un-original", so I've opted to leave the reader guessing some until such time that I feel it a more unique moment to explain her. This particular work is to be deoid of emotional contructs for a little while as well. It's going to add to some of the focuses I'm placing, just as I did in a past story. Meh. Dunno why I felt the need to defend myself, but I did, now it's over, woohoo. As for chapter three, please do read. Let me know what you think.
http://www.fictionpress.com/read.php?storyid=2192751

I'm still in desire for some in depth critiques, anything but the grammer. My dynamics are a bit off, but I'm impresed that my distortion stuck like it did. This is near the end of chapter 2, which is up and posted on my Fictionpress site, if you'd like to catch up. With this picture all but done, I'll be moving on to write chapter 3 "Nightfrights" shortly. While Purples and darker hues would be cool, I just don't htink they'd be too practical on for a girl that ends up hitting the dirt alot. I've all but decided on a earthen base. Mainly some browning with alot of earth and neutral greens. Not only my favorite hues, but they do contrast her persona and name. I must admit, I'm a little lost on her shoulder Pauldron (that spikey furball on her right shoulder) I'm not sure If I want to make it a cream or an irvory. I can't decide, for the life of me, on her hair either. I'd make it a fiery red, but I think that might be a bit overkill, so I'm leaning now towards a muted tan with maybe a hint of moss green, or earthy red. something mute. Not sure where the circular pattern on her clay orb came from, but I was digging it, so I left it there for kicks. I may take them off for the final piece, or use them to show the spinning motion, haven't decided. Feel free to critique, I can always use it.
--Little Reverb

Advise From the gallery

Hi-de-ho Everybody. As you can see, last night about 10ish I posted Scarlet's prelim sheet. She came out much better in the overall then I had hoped. The next doodle will be a fully assembled Scarlet, so be on the lookout. I do have a question for those interested, however. With the majority of her outfit up for you all to look at, I could use some color consultation. I can color easy enough, but it's the palette that I always have issues with.
I'm looking to keep to an older palette, earthy tones, maybe some black and brown too, but I'd like to keep away from the red hues. As much as I think she'd be a real looker in a red outfit, it's a bit Faux-paw after naming her Scarlet. So please, let me know what you think. Our hero steps forward with his Shovel of only mildly intimidating fury (rare item don't you know). The stumpian minions are not dazed and quickly retaliate by hurling dirt at our hero's eyes, eliminating his sight. Focused on the task at hand, the brave hero thrusts his not so mighty weapon into the earth, thwarting the tyrannous stumpian minions forever more.~~~~

Ok, so it didn't happen exactly like that, however, that seems to be what happens once I get the itch to start writing again. Every little event seems to come off in a cynical little storybook manor. In any case, I did just get back from my weekend in Knoxville. Kitten's grandparents are cool and all, but boy can her grandfather talk if you bring up the subject of cars! The weekend was primarily rest and lounging seeing as I'm lacking in the cash department. I'm gonna do some job hunting soon. I do have to admit, there isn't much that compare to simply sitting around, talking with one you feel so much for. Or simply going on a drive, for the sake of seeing her smile and laugh as you sing (off key) to some of the favorite music tastes you share. Wish I could be down there more.
Excited is pretty much the only word I can use to describe my self when I Start to think about the depth and clarity of the story unfolding in my head. A lot of my time is spent jotting down plot line events, as well as history behind certain characters, doodling their appearance once I get them envisioned fully, and simply trying to portray-in words-a more full extent to what is happening in my head. It did finally occur to me over the weekend, just whom I had based Scarlet upon. A good friend from school, with amazing skill and a good heart, with a bit of an eccentric point of view to clothing. Her only flaw is that she runs from just about everything she can't predict as a success. As soon as I finish up the last parts of Scarlet's outfit, as well as her face (it's been giving me heck) I'll see about throwing the image onto blogger. I could use some critique, any good artist/author can.
That's all for now.
Much love,
Little Reverb

Back in the Literary Think of Things

For those who don't know, and read my site from time to time, I'm an avid writer when I've got the itch. Wish I could say there was a reason asides from laziness. For those that don't know, I've moved back in with Mum, and I suppose my mood is relative to being defeated. I know it was too soon and that there will be other chances, I just get down on myself over that, which I'm trying to avoid doing. I just got back from knoxville this weekend again, I had to go pick up the remainder of my goodies from storage. Of course my main reason was Elle, and I was more than happy to find out how much I was missed. Not just by her either, by just about everyone. I still can't help but feeling down and out, and it's started to bother me. The general chores and list of things I should be taking care of is growing faster than my current state can take care of them. Today will probably be the first day I'm actually going to accomplish things since I've arrived. Among other fun things that I got to do while I was back in Knoxvegas for the weekend, was a half way decent round of putt-putt with the crew, somehow ending up at the mall 3 times in one day, and gaining the last 2 piercing on my "make me feel happy about myself" list. Yes, this brings the grand total up to 5. This time, however, they're both on my right ear. For some reason, some people just don't seem to understand why I've gotten them. Several in particular seem to feak out and think it's a horrible thing and makes me look immature and unsuited for and decent jobs I may come across in the near future. My only reply is that a former co-worker at Jo-anns had a double 00 gauge bamboo earring in his ear, which for those who don't know, is abour the size of a quarter. He had it at the interview. A former coworker at Linens 'n Things had 2 lebret (the space under the lip) 2 lip piercings and 4 brow piercings and he nailed his job with ease. In this day and age, it's not unusual or unprofessional, it just depends on the person, how they flaunt it, and if they're truly qualified for the job. So for those who think it might hurt my chances of getting a job, calm down and respect my choice to be who I want to be, and make the choices I wish to make please (this was directed toward someone). I do feel much better about my overall decision of moving down here though. I plan to come up every chance I get to see everyone important to me. Aunt J. , sorry I didn't reply as soon as I'd intended, I'll get on that today at some point. Suppose that's all for now. much love, Little Reverb

Emissions Tests and Lost Loved Ones

It's been a while since I posted last, but mainly it's cause I'm lazy. School is out and next week begins my 40 hour work week, and the true apartment hunting search. Two possible roomies in the works, a girl selling 2 ferrets and cage/cage supplies really cheap has my enterest, and My overall state of being since when I got up this morning to where I am now, isn't so well. When I finally arrived in Atlanta yesterday around noonish, one of my little chores was to get my car an emissions test, which I did, and it failed. . .so on to whatever plan Jeff has next.
Next chore, bathe the cat, which ended in a bloody tub when he decided to voice his catlike opinion and bite a hole in my finger. . .the swelling was on the tip of my right index last night, now it's encompased the joint below that. . .infection is my thought. So that's on the list of to-do's today.
I woke up at just around 6 from lack of sleep from the pain in my hand only to find that my kitten's step father passed away this morning around 5:30. She's torn up about it, but still decided to go to school, which thuroughly amazes me. Her step father was the only real role model she's had for 15 years in the realm of the father figure, and I'm sure she's hurtin' right now, so obviously this makes me feel just a little helpless. Until things get figured out here, I can't head home, not to mention driving will be a killer with my hand as it is at the current moment.
While I'm really wishing that I hadn't crawled out of bed at all today, it's obvious that this is one of those "trial days" for me. Oh the man upstairs has to be having a field day with the paper work on this one. While things still look sour, only two thoughts are stuck in my head for the moment; getting home and making sure Elle and her mom are ok, and looking for a new residence as soon as I can. I'm dying to be on my own, even if it is as a roommate with a good friend, and I don't really like the idea of pushing things with Jenny and Tim because of the whole ferret deal. I'm really excited about those little carpet sharks, I've wanted one since I was old enough to talk, and this is my chance, so of course I'm already about sold on it, just have to contact Elle's friend and work something out. I suppose that's enough from the abyss between my ears for now, so I'm gonna go lay down and nurse my hand until mom's up so I can figure out what I'm going to do about it. (doctor's visit, I'm almost positive)
--Little Reverb

I'm a Little More Than Useless. . .Just A Little

For those of you familiar with the tune "More Than Useless" by Relient K, you'll understand where I'm coming from right now. . .For those of you that aren't, I'd suggest reading the lyrics before much else. To all of those that know, I was planning to become an Interior Designer. . .Well after some issues and some dense realizations, I'm going back to art, where I really belong. I suppose it was unwise of me to have decided to change my major from something like art, to interior design based on a notion which scared me. However, at this point in my life, I know that I'm not meant to be in that program, so as of next semester I'm going into graphic art.
I can't help but feel like a failure right now. I took on five classes with a simple 20 hour work week, for the second semester in a row, and I'm failing more miserably than the last semester. It's at times like these that if I were someone else, I'd get a floggin stick and beat me severely. While I can say that I've been happier, I've definitely seen much better days. Albeit, I'm not depressed anymore, just. . .Dissatisfied with my self. . .Extremely dissatisfied. While I had originally thought that changing majors, getting an apartment, and changing from full school to full work and part school would make my life easier, I've a very strong suspicion that it only means I'll be even more tired and with less freetime to do my school work.
As this semester comes to a close, I stand in what seems like the darkest academic point in my life, and yet I'm still smiling. I may have spent a year screwing myself over with classes that, I realize now, I cared nothing for. . .And in drafting studio's that, while fun, only left me wanting to draw and draft more like I should have been, but now I know what I have to do. I realize that my GPA is probably non-existent after such a moronic choice of actions, and that I've much to do to pick up those shattered dreams, but I do think that shattered dreams are the best medium in which to reassemble one's true ambitions. I know that you're not going go be pleased mom, I can tell now and I can imagine that this post hasn't instilled any confidence that I can do what we've talked about. . .But I know I can. I don't fear what I use to, and we all know that art is where I should be, so half my problem is solved. . .What's left resides in me and my cobweb filled brain.
I'm planning on talking to Hillard again, I'm gonna need him more than ever now that I know what I have to do, I'm just in the hopes that he can instill some sort of confident in me what with my over confident ways and my ill-mannered disposition with myself right now. For all those who don't know, Mr. Hillard was my art teacher from freshmen year up through senior in highschool. He's the man who thought me alot of who I was, and was more of a father figure to me than anyone I can think of in that period of time. I owe him alot, and I try to go back to see him often, especially when I'm looking for advisement.

I suppose that's all for now friends
Peace,
Little Reverb

Amateur Night at the Little Shop of Horrors

So it appears on Friday that I'll be taking Elle to her old school, William Blount, for some sort of Amateur night for teens. While I'd love to get in on this endeavor I imagine I'll be busy meeting her old friends whilst being shown off. I'm completely entranced by the love this girl dishes out. Something as simple a note left on her window in steam when she's not home yet just makes her gleefully happy. I always thought it was the coolest secret spy thingy that I ever watched on the Television, but hey, it whatever works I suppose. It's quite odd though, in the long run. We've known eachother for. . .a little under three months and I can't say I've ever felt as connected to any of my previous relationships at that point as I do currently. I often wonder if it's normal to be on such a similar thought pattern so early on in a relationship, but then I realize just how awesome it is, not to mention how lucky I really am to have found her through a blog, and I easily dismiss my worries.
Little Shop of Horrors was on the tube last night so I watched it, in utter glee. The dreams that pursued were fairly normal for a horror flick before bed, seeing as I don't really get nightmares from them. I did have somewhat of an epiphany today about my eating habits and what I'm still so thin. While at work last night, I was scarfing a half dozen (literally) pizza sticks complements of the ladies over at the Wally World Bakery (those are the nicest ladies ever) and I was called ot the front. regardless of break, I'ma goodie goodie and I go see what they need. Some elderly lady needs a Portsmith table (dimensions= 6ft x 4 ft x 6in *in the box*) and 4 portsmith chairs (dimensions= 3ft x 2 ft x 4 ft *in box*) put into her SUV that she has double parked on top of the curb. So rather than going and getting a dolly like I should have, I took the chairs (being lightest) and bunked them in the back easy, then hoisted the 95lb table box over my head and carried it out. I think that the fact I never get to finish a meal cuase of mule labor might be the cause of my weight and lack there-of.
much love,
LittleReverb

Rainy Days in a Sleepless Haze

So I'm sure everyone has been in the little haze between sleep and just laying in bed on a rainy day, am I right? Well it certainly makes my day as of late. I woke up to it this morning as a matter of fact, and it was a definite relaxer. Rain makes me so happy anymore, it's true irony now, seeing as it use to bring nothing be boring days. Reason being, the first five dates I went on with Elle, best girlfriend ever by the way, were all in the rain. It's true joy to find someone who doesn't care if you go out in play in the rain, it's the ultimate joy if you turn around and she's hoping out of the car to join you. But as I lay there in that Daze between consciousness and sound sleep, the little pitter patter of rain on the window only brings memories of her into a more vivid state on the backs of my eyelids. A fresh start is so wonderful isn't it?
I'm excited already since today is the final day of a particularly fun project in my Interior's Studio class. We were to take the second story of a 1960's bungalow and accomodate it for a 10 year old girl and her 9 year old brother, as well as a full bath for them and a play area. the second story alone was nearly 20sq. ft. X 53 sq.ft. The whole time I've been doing this I was thinking "this is gonna be the size of the entire apartment I could be in before long. . . lucky kids" In any case, I think I've rattled enough today, I'm gonna head off to class before my computer sucks me in again.
much love,
LittleReverb

Diggin the city lights

So I'm new the to whole bloggin' thing on this particular site. I really felt compelled today to stay in touch more with my family, especially the extended members. Found out my aunt and some other family have joined up to keep in touch with my Mum. Who wants to be left out of the loop, right? What more is there to say? I can't say I'm having much luck in school right now, simply becuase I'm not only looking at summer only a week or so away, but I'm also jsut not the greatest student. I've started planning things out for next semester, in the hopes of rectifying some of my past mistakes. I think that's about it for now, so I'll keep in touch.
--much love,
LittleReverb
